Beginning with version 2.0, Blurity Video is open source and all source code is released under the GPL v2 or later. Blurity Videos non-interactive video recording and processing is fast, simple and robust, and its trademarked functionality is immediately available for mobile devices. We developed version 3.0 of Blurity Video to provide an automated way to edit images while recording. Blurity Video can recognize faces, and can create a timelapse video of a still image as the program is recording. It can also record complex professional level videos, which can then be post-processed to create a cinematic video.

The most pressing issues facing Blurity were a well-defined API. I have spent a long time on the back end from version 0.9.3 to release 2.0. This was a major effort. I didnt want to make changes without getting feedback from users.
Its a big difference, for example, when the final version is showing up. The most common use is too ensure that its easy to accept updates and get new functionality. The Mac version of Blurity is still built as a 32-bit application, but because Mac OS X allows 32-bit applications to allocate up to 4 GB of memory, the size limit has always been higher: at least 33 megapixels, possibly more.

The speed and small-memory optimizations will be released soon, so watch for a new 64-bit version for the Mac.
